MM&M is the trading name of Quentin Williams,
who studied music and education at Goldsmiths College, London
University, and further studied the Cello at the Royal Academy
of Music under the late Douglas Cameron.
Upon joining the profession, he worked in a
freelance capacity with the various London orchestras and the
Royal Shakespeare Company before joining the Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra cello section in 1968. He left the RPO to freelance
as a session musician in 1972, and some three years later, formed
a music and management company with his brother Robin. Over the
next fifteen years or so, they worked variously as orchestral
contractors and musicians, appearing at concert venues and recording
studios with the major international artistes of the day.
Following the disbanding of the partnership in 1991, Quentin moved
into film and television production, and was appointed music advisor
to the London based HTV drama department where he remained until
the restructuring of the Independent Television Companies in the
mid nineties.
He has since represented a select group of media
writers, remains a Musicians Union approved contractor, acts as
advisor to various music publishers and independent film and television
production companies, and works as a freelance record producer.
